Roles and Permissions

Every person on your account has one of three roles, Admin, Editor, or Contributor, and you can add extra permissions on top of the role.

Three layers decide what someone can do

Access in Tumbleweed comes from three things working together: the person's role, the workspaces they can reach, and any additional permissions you give them.

Roles

When you add a user, you choose one role: Admin, Editor, or Contributor. The Add User form shows an Included with role list, so you can see what a role covers before you finish. Start with the lowest role that fits the job.

Workspaces

Admins have access to every workspace. Editors and Contributors only reach the workspaces you choose for them, and they need at least one.

Additional permissions

Some features are switched on per person, on top of their role. Inbox and Network Broadcast can be turned on or off. Campaigns can be set to No access, View only, or View and edit. Brand kit can be set to view only or view and edit.

Common questions

Can I give an Editor access to Network Broadcast?

Yes. Network Broadcast is an additional permission you can turn on for a person.

Can an Editor see every workspace?

No. Only Admins see every workspace. Editors and Contributors see the workspaces you assign.

How do I change someone's access later?

Open Users from your profile menu. The Add a User guide covers the form and its options.
