A steadier Tumbleweed

Pages refresh while you work, sign-in guards against repeated guesses, and slow services get clearer messages.

  • Refreshes when you're using it. Pages update often while you're working, slow down when you step away, and stop while the tab is hidden. When you come back, they catch up right away. Unread counts can take up to about two minutes to update when you aren't on the Inbox page.
  • Protection against password guessing. After too many tries, sign-in, password reset, and email verification ask you to wait: "Too many attempts. Please wait a few minutes and try again." If several people at one location reset their passwords at once, some may need to wait a few minutes.
  • Clearer messages when a service is slow. If a connected service doesn't answer in time, Tumbleweed says so. If it was sending something, such as a reply, it asks you to check whether it went through before you try again.
  • Help requests fail politely. If a help request can't be sent, you see "We couldn't send your message right now. Please try again in a few minutes."
  • Very large requests are refused right away instead of failing partway through.
