At TumbleweedTM, your privacy matters to us. Whether you’re running digital campaigns, exploring OEM content, or managing your ag-retail marketing strategy, we want you to know how your information is collected, used, and protected when you use our platform. Tumbleweed is operated by Bailey AG, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains everything in simple terms so you can feel confident using Tumbleweed every day.
1. Information We Collect
When you use Tumbleweed, we collect information to provide you with the best possible experience. Here’s what we gather:
Personal Information
This includes things like your name, email address, job title, company name, contact details, and billing information.
Account and Usage Data
We collect data about how you use the platform, such as login times, campaign performance, engagement with OEM content, and what features you use most. This helps us keep things running smoothly and improve over time.
Device and Log Data
We automatically collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visits.
Content and Connected Account Data
This includes content you upload or create, such as posts, images, and brand assets, and information from accounts you connect, such as social media channels and cloud storage. We use connected account access only to provide the features you ask for.
Information from OEMs and Suppliers
If an OEM or supplier invites you to Tumbleweed or shares materials or program details with you, we receive that information from them.
Brand Kit Information
If you give us your website address, we read your publicly available pages to identify your logo, colors, fonts, and brand voice.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Feature Data
When you use AI features, such as the AI Assistant and AI Write, we process your prompts and the context needed to generate a response, including parts of your Brand Kit.
Messages and Inbox Data
If you use the Inbox or Expert help, we handle the content of comments, reviews, and direct messages from your connected channels. This can include names, contact details, and other information that the people who write to you choose to share. We use it to show it to you and to help you reply.
Cookies and Tracking Tools
Like most online platforms, we use cookies and similar technologies to make Tumbleweed work better for you, understand how the platform is used, and support marketing and analytics efforts. See Section 7 for details and your choices.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for a few key reasons:
To provide and operate the Tumbleweed platform
To provide the AI, Brand Kit, and content features you ask for
To communicate with you about your account, updates, and important service information
To personalize your experience based on how you use Tumbleweed
To analyze usage and improve our tools and services
To make sure we comply with OEM requirements and legal obligations
To keep everything secure and running as expected
To provide Expert help when you ask for it
3. Sharing Your Information
We want to be clear: we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
However, there are times when we need to share your information to keep things working:
With Service Providers
We work with trusted partners who help us operate Tumbleweed, like hosting companies, payment processors, analytics services, and AI service providers. They only get the information they need to do their jobs and are not allowed to use it for anything else.
With Tumbleweed Staff When You Turn On Expert Help
If your organization turns on Expert help, Tumbleweed staff can see the content and settings in your account. If you also turn on the permission to answer comments and messages, staff can open the direct messages, comments, and channel messages connected to your account. See Section 17.
With Social Platforms and Cloud Services You Connect
When you connect a social media account or cloud storage, we exchange information with that service as needed to publish posts, read engagement, or import files. See Section 5 for more.
With Connected OEM Accounts (With Your Consent)
If you connect with an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) through Tumbleweed and give explicit permission:
We may share business profile details, posting activity, content types, and performance data so OEMs can verify your participation in their programs (like co-op or rewards).
This only happens with your express consent, and you can turn off sharing at any time in your account settings.
OEMs are not allowed to resell, sublicense, or redistribute your data. They can only use it to manage their marketing programs.
For Legal or Safety Reasons
We may share information if the law requires it, or if it’s needed to protect Tumbleweed, our users, or others.
If the Business Changes Hands
If Tumbleweed is ever part of a merger, acquisition, or similar business transfer, your information may be shared as part of that process, following this policy.
4. OEM Social Posting Permissions
If you choose to let an OEM post to your connected social media accounts through Tumbleweed:
You must give explicit consent in your account settings
You are responsible for reviewing and approving anything posted on your behalf
Tumbleweed does not moderate or control what OEMs post
It is your (or the OEM’s) responsibility to ensure posts follow laws, platform rules, and local advertising standards
Tumbleweed is not responsible for any legal or reputational issues that arise from these posts
5. Connected Platforms and Your Data
When you connect an account or cloud storage, we receive only the information needed to provide the features you ask for. Connected services include Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Zernio, a social publishing service we use to connect to and post on some social accounts.
Google Services
Tumbleweed’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the features you request, such as importing files you select from Google Drive or publishing to YouTube. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
YouTube
If you use Tumbleweed’s YouTube features, you are bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to information handled by YouTube. You can revoke Tumbleweed’s access to your YouTube data at any time in your Google security settings.
Disconnecting and Deleting Connected Data
You can disconnect any connection in Tumbleweed or in the settings of the connected service. To ask us to delete the information we received from a connected service, email support@tumbleweed.digital with the subject “Delete connected data” and tell us which service. We will delete it within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Your Content
At this time, Tumbleweed does not use your content to train AI models. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
To generate AI responses, we send your prompts and the context needed to answer them, such as parts of your Brand Kit, to our AI service providers. They may only use that information to provide the service to us. Staff who provide Expert help use only business AI services whose terms bar training on submitted data.
Please don’t enter sensitive information, such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information, into AI features. If your content includes personal information about other people, such as customers or team members, you confirm that you have the right to provide it. We handle it only on your behalf, to provide the service.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, understand how the platform and our website are used, and measure our advertising. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads. You can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services on Google’s partner sites page.
You can control cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Some privacy laws treat advertising cookies like these as “sharing” or “targeted advertising.” To opt out, contact us at support@tumbleweed.digital or use your browser’s opt-out controls.
8. Keeping Your Information Safe
We take security seriously. Tumbleweed uses a combination of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. While no system can ever be 100% secure, we work hard to keep your data safe and private. If a security incident affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide Tumbleweed or to meet legal requirements. After you close your account, we delete or de-identify your account information and content within 90 days. The exceptions are billing and tax records, which we keep as the law requires, and information in backups, which is removed as backups are replaced. When Expert help ends, we delete copies that staff made outside your account, other than backups and records we must keep by law. We may keep information longer if needed to resolve a dispute or comply with the law.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You’re always in control of your information. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
See the information we have about you
Correct or update your information
Request that we delete your information
Revoke consent for OEM connections or social posting at any time
Opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at support@tumbleweed.digital
To make a request, email support@tumbleweed.digital. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within 45 days, or sooner if the law requires, and we will tell you if we need more time. If we deny your request, you can appeal by emailing support@tumbleweed.digital with the subject “Appeal.” We will respond within the time the law requires.
11. State Privacy Rights
Residents of some states, including California, Colorado, and Virginia, have additional rights under state privacy laws. These include the right to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sales, and certain profiling.
In the past 12 months, we may have collected these categories of information: identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address), commercial information (such as plan and billing details), internet and device activity, professional information (such as job title and company), and the content you provide. We use them for the purposes in Section 2 and share them with the kinds of recipients in Section 3. We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. Messages that people send to you, which you handle through the Inbox or Expert help, may include sensitive information that they choose to share. We process it only on your behalf. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights. See Section 10 for how to make a request or appeal.
12. Platform Availability and Downtime
We do our best to keep Tumbleweed running smoothly, but sometimes outages or service interruptions happen. This includes disruptions with social media platforms or OEM integrations. Tumbleweed is provided “as-is,” and we are not responsible for missed posts or eligibility issues caused by downtime.
13. Children’s Privacy
Tumbleweed is designed for professionals and businesses, and our Terms of Use require users to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we find out we’ve collected information from a child, we’ll delete it right away.
14. International Visitors
Tumbleweed is operated in the United States and is intended for businesses in the United States. It is not directed to people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. If you use Tumbleweed from outside the United States, your information will be processed and stored in the United States.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as our services grow and change. If we make important changes, we will let you know through the platform or by email.
16. Text Messaging (SMS)
Tumbleweed, operated by Bailey AG, LLC, offers an optional text messaging program to registered Tumbleweed users. If you opt in, we collect and use the following information:
Your mobile phone number and a record of your consent: when and how you opted in, and the messages you agreed to receive.
The messages and photos you send us, which we use to draft social media posts for your Tumbleweed workspace.
Message delivery information from our messaging providers, such as whether a message was delivered.
We use this information only to provide the text messaging program: to receive your photos and messages, send you drafts, approval requests and confirmations, verify approvals, keep the service secure, and meet our legal and carrier obligations. Photos you send are stored in your Tumbleweed workspace.
We share this information only with service providers that help us deliver text messages, such as our SMS provider, and only as needed to operate the program.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile numbers and opt-in consent collected for this program are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by turning off text messages in your Tumbleweed settings. For help, reply HELP or visit our Help Center.
17. Expert Help (Managed Services)
Some organizations choose optional Expert help, where Tumbleweed staff work inside the organization’s account. When an organization accepts Expert help, staff can see the content and settings in that account. If the organization turns on the permission to answer comments and messages, staff can also open and reply to direct messages, comments, reviews, and channel messages connected to the account, including the Inbox. These may contain personal information about the organization’s own customers and other people who write to it.
Staff use this information only to provide Expert help for that organization. Staff access is logged, and staff cannot see full payment card details. We do not sell this information or use it for our own marketing. We handle it on the organization’s behalf, and the organization is responsible for any notice it owes its own customers. Our AI and hosting providers may process it only to provide the service. Expert help is governed by the Tumbleweed Expert Help Terms.
